Social media sites Facebook and Instagram are reportedly down around the world.
Real-time internet and social media monitoring and disruption service Downdetector.pk reported the outage of Meta-owned social sites worldwide around 8:16 p.m.
Instagram users were unable to view content on the image-sharing platform because a “Something went wrong” message appeared every time they tried to access the site.
Meanwhile, login sessions on Facebook and Messenger expired when users logged out of the apps. They were unable to “log in” again when a pop-up appeared saying “an unexpected error occurred” while trying to access Facebook.
