Blake Lively's co-star Brandon Sklenar defended the actress once again amid Ends with us drama.

The film, based on Colleen Hoover's best-selling novel, has faced criticism despite its strong box office performance.

Criticism has focused on the film's handling of the story's key theme of domestic abuse and alleged problems between the cast and crew.

Lively, who stars in and produces the film, has been particularly criticised for her “tone-deaf” promotion of the film and also for focusing on her new hair care brand rather than the film's sensitive subject matter.

In an interview with Access to HollywoodSklenar expressed frustration at the backlash, saying: “I think it's nonsense.”

She added: “Spreading negativity goes against the purpose of the film. It's an important film for many women and many survivors of domestic abuse.”

Sklenar's comments follow an Instagram post he made last month, where he defended the film and its creators.

In her post, she wrote: “Colleen and the women in this cast represent hope, perseverance and women choosing a better life for themselves.”

“Victimizing women who put so much of their heart and soul into making this film because they believe so strongly in its message seems counterproductive,” the actor added.
