Bill Skarsgard's grueling training and diet regimen for 'The Crow' revealed


Bill Skarsgard demonstrated incredible discipline during his training for The raven.

Before The RavenBill filmed The child kills the world in which he plays a ruthless fighter, so he was already pretty fit when he began shooting for the Rupert Sanders film.

The actor worked out for months and only ate certain foods, according to Sanders.

“I would take Bill out to dinner. I would always order for him because I knew what he was eating,” Sanders said. Variety at the film premiere.

“Basically, it was steak tartare and raw eggs. I went to the gym a lot. I ate very healthily and put us all to shame when we ate burgers and hot dogs and worked late in the Czech summer.”

Speaking further about his physique, Bill said, “I had already been training for quite some time. My trainer and I kept adding a little bit of weight to what I already had, but I didn’t want to get too big either,” Skarsgard said.

He explained: “It was tricky, because they wanted the Crow to be muscular, but Eric’s character shouldn’t be. I didn’t feel like the character should be skinny, but you can’t afford to split it up into six months, Raging Bull style. So we did a lot of weight training and ate a lot of protein.”

The Raven It features Skarsgard as Eric Draven, aka the antihero The Crow. When Eric and his girlfriend Shelly (formerly known as Twigs) are mercilessly murdered, he returns alive and seeks revenge for their murders.

The film is a remake of the original 1994 film, which starred Bruce Lee's son Brandon Lee. Lee tragically lost his life on set after he was accidentally shot with a real gun.
