The airlines diverted more flights in the Middle East on Monday after Iran's armed forces said the country launched a missile strike in an American military base in Qatar, since the military conflict in the region continued to interrupt the flights.

More than 20 commercial aircraft bound for Doha, Qatar, diverted, while four others that went to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates turned around, according to the Aviation Data firm Cirium. Meanwhile, the Flightradar24 flight tracking platform said the airspace over the EAU was temporarily closed. Reuters reported that the island nation of Bahrain also closed its airspace temporarily.

Emirates, based in Dubai, said that some of their aircraft were redirected on Monday and told customers that some longer delays or flights are possible, since it will operate their schedule as planned but with “well -distance flight routes from the conflict areas.”

Air India said that he has stopped all flights inside and outside the region and from and from the east coast of North America and Europe “to more information.”

“Our flights to India from North America are deviating back to their respective origins and others are being diverted to India or redress from closed air spaces,” said Air India in a publication on X. “We request the understanding of all passengers that can be affected by this interruption that is beyond the control of an airline.”

The carrier had previously announced some schedule cuts for improved security improvements after the fatal accident of one of his Boeing 787 shortly after Ahmedabad takeoff in western India earlier this month. The cause of that accident is still under investigation.

British Airways said Monday that he is canceling his doha flights until Wednesday “after the last developments.”

“Security is always our top priority,” he said. “We are contacting our clients to advise them on their options and we will maintain the situation under review.”

Previously, the main international airlines, including Air France, Iberia, Finnair and others, announced that they would pause or postpone a resumption of service to some destinations in the Middle East.

American Airlines He had previously suspended his flights to Doha, and United Airlines He had stopped the service to Dubai.

American operators had also suspended their Israel service after the strike of that country against Iran earlier this month.

The conflict in the Middle East has increased complications for airlines that have been dealing with restricted airspace since the Ukraine War began in 2022 and Russian airspace closed for many carriers.

The aircraft carriers have been making a periodically part of the Middle East due to safety concerns, but closed airspace means longer routes that require more fuel.
