Ukraine ready for the high partial fire if Russia is committed, says Zelenskiy

Ukraine is prepared to accept the partial fire of the energy objectives if Russia maintains its side of the agreement, said President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, after his telephone conversation with the president of the United States, Donald Trump.

The Ukrainian president also said that his country would respond in kind if Moscow violated the terms of the high fire.

After talking with the president of the United States, Donald Trump, on Wednesday for the first time from his disastrous conversations of the Oval office, Zelenskiy said that kyiv would prepare a list of facilities that could be subject to a high partial fire negotiated by Washington.

That list could include not only energy, but also the rail and port infrastructure, he said, a day after the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, spoke with Trump and agreed to stop attacks against energy infrastructure.

“I understand that until we agree (with Russia), until there is a corresponding document on a partial fire, I think everything will fly,” said Zelenskiy, referring to drones and missiles.

The Ukrainian leader, who seemed tired while talking to journalists during an online information session, described his phone call with Trump as “probably his most substantive and positive conversations” and added that he had not felt under pressure.

The reading contrasts with the bitter optics of the last Zelenskiy meeting with Trump on February 28, which was intended to take them to sign a mineral agreement, but instead it became a game of shouts.

When asked in the informative session if he still wanted Trump to visit Ukraine, Zelenskiy said yes and that he believed it would be useful for the president of the United States in his efforts to stop the war.

Zelenskiy said that Ukrainian and American officials could then meet in Saudi Arabia on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays to discuss technical details.

The Ukrainian leader said that he wanted to understand how the partial fire would be monitored, although he added that he thought it would be successful if the United States set out to do so.

A statement from the United States presidential administration said previously that Trump suggested to Zelenskiy that the United States could help execute, and possibly possess Ukraine nuclear power plants and energy infrastructure.

Zelenskiy said he and Trump discussed only the vast Zaporizhzia nuclear plant occupied by Russia in southeastern Ukraine during his phone call.

He added that he told Trump that kyiv would be ready to discuss the participation of the United States in modernization and invest in the nuclear plant if returned to Ukraine.

Zelenskiy said he believed that Putin would not agree with a full fire, while Ukrainian troops remained in the Western Kursk region of Russia.

kyiv's forces launched a surprise incursion in the region in August last year, but since then they have retired to a small splinter of land during a several stages operation by Russia.

Zelenskiy also said that Ukraine had received new supplies from several F-16 combat planes, but refused to say exactly how many or when the delivery had happened.
