Tech giant Elon Musk on Wednesday denied reports that he donated money to Trump or Donald Trump, following reports of his meeting with the former president over the weekend.

Tech giant Elon Musk took to X on Wednesday to clarify that he will not donate to any candidate for the November 2024 presidential election.

“To be very clear, I will not be donating money to any of the candidates for President of the United States,” Musk wrote in the tweet.

Trump reportedly met with Musk and other wealthy Republican donors over the weekend.

The meetings came as Trump sought financial contributions for his re-election bid in November 2024. Trump faces financial setbacks due to recent rulings in civil fraud and defamation cases.

The goal is to get important contributors to boost your campaign funds. While Musk's social media posts suggest opposition to President Joe Biden winning a second term, he has not confirmed any financial help for Trump.

Musk, who previously declared himself “politically independent” and voted for Biden in 2020, has since denounced Biden's actions and feuded with his administration.

Musk's financial support for Trump could have provided a counterweight to Biden's projected financial advantage in the 2024 election, given his net worth of around $200 billion.
