Saudi Arabia and Jordan have recently entered into talks to explore potential opportunities in the northern region of the Neom megaproject on the Jordanian side.
The Jordanian side of the border offers ports and existing infrastructure that could easily be used for projects that benefit both countries and support Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 and the broader region, according to a pan-Arab newspaper. Asharq Al Awsatreported.
Jordan Investment Commission Chairman Khalid Wazani has emphasized that Neom, a $500 billion project launched by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in 2017, is attracting greater Saudi-Jordanian investments to set up businesses in Aqaba. and improve existing businesses there.
The Jordanian side of Neom includes the port of Aqaba and Marsa Zayed, which are expected to serve as centers for knowledge exchange and consultation, facilitating the development of Neom-related projects.
In a statement on Friday, Wazani underlined the potential positive outcomes, alignment of perspectives and progress towards the goals of the project, which is expected to benefit Saudi Vision 2030 and the region, including Egypt and Jordan, in the Neom initiative.
He made these remarks after a meeting with Riyadh Chamber of Commerce Board Member and Chairman of the Securities and Investment Committee Mohammed Al Sayer in Riyadh.
Neom will provide development opportunities with a total area of 460 km on the shores of the Red Sea and a total area of 26,500 square meters.
