Military veterans will be redistributed as safety guards in illegally occupied Indians Jammu and Kashmira (Iiojk), said New Delhi on Saturday, a week after a stop the fire with Pakistan to end their most serious conflict in decades.

The Iojk government approved a “proposal to mobilize former military (ESM) to safeguard vital infrastructure throughout the territory of the Union,” according to a government press release.
Around 4,000 veterans have been “identified” as non -combatant volunteers, of which 435 have licensed personal weapons, he said.
This will help “significantly improve the ability to respond effectively to localized security situations,” added the government.
Veterans will work on “static guard” roles, focusing on “deterrence based on local presence and coordination.”
India already has an estimate of half a million permanent soldiers in the disputed region that has been in the heart of several wars among neighbors with nuclear weapons, which manage separate portions of the divided territory.
