Hannah Gutiérrez, Armorr of Western Movies 'Rust', released from prison

Hannah Gutiérrez, the weapons managing in the unfortunate film by Alec Baldwin Western “Rust”, has been released from prison after serving 14 months for his sentence last year of involuntary homicide.

Gutiérrez was released on Friday from a Women's prison in New Mexico after completing his sentence in the accidental shooting of photography director Halyna Hutchins in October 2021.

Gutiérrez was one of the three people accused in Hutchins' death in the film south of Santa Fe, NM, but the only one who received a sentence for serious crime. A jury found his guilt of involuntary homicide in Hutchins' death after a dramatic two -week trial last year in Santa Fe.

New Mexico's prosecutors criticized Arizona's wife for the reckless management of firearms and ammunition in violation of arms safety rules.

The special prosecutor also argued that Gutierrez had brought the live bullets with her to the popular location of the western film, Bonanza Creek Ranch, and mixed them with “fictitious” inert bullets used in films.

Gutierrez has denied that accusation. There were no conclusive evidence about the origins of living bullets.

Baldwin, who pointed to Hutchins during an essay, was also accused. He declared himself innocent of involuntary homicide for the shooting that killed the 42 -year -old photography director, a rising star in the industry, and wounded the director of the film, Joel Souza.

The judge of New Mexico supervising the criminal prosecutions of “oxide”, the judge of the Court of Judicial District of New Mexico, Judge Mary Marlow Sommer, dismissed the position against Baldwin three days in her high profile trial last July.

Marlowe Sommer discovered that the prosecutor and the agents of the Santa Fe County Sheriff had hidden the evidence of the Baldwin legal team, which the judge said he harmed the case against Baldwin. At that time, the actor-producer team was exploring whether the prosecutors and the sheriff deputies failed the investigation into how the bullets reached the set.

Deputy Director David Halls was also accused in the shooting.

Halls did not oppose a contest of negligent use of a mortal weapon and received a six -month suspended sentence, which ended in October 2023. Halls, which since then withdrew from the industry, agreed to pay a fine of $ 500, participate in a kind of firearms security, refrain from taking drugs or alcohol and 24 hours of community service.

Gutierrez had received the maximum prayer for his role.

It was released on probation. She is also being supervised under terms of probation after declaring himself guilty of a separate load of illegally carrying a gun to a bar of Santa Fe that prohibited firearms for a few days before the fatal shooting, according to Associated Press.

The terms of probation include mental health evaluations and a prohibition of the possession of firearms.

Gutierrez, through his lawyer, rejected an interview request on Sunday.

“When I faced 'Rust', I was young and was naive, but I took my job as seriously as I knew,” Gutierrez told the judge during his sentence hearing in April 2024.

Marlowe Sommer, who also presided over the case of the gunsmith, gave Gutiérrez the maximum prayer, saying: “You were the gunsmith, the one that stood between a safe weapon and a weapon that could kill someone … only turned a safe weapon into a lethal weapon.”

With the release of Gutiérrez, the criminal phase of the “Oxide” saga has concluded.

Several civil lawsuits against Baldwin and producers, including Hutchins' family members, are still unresolved.

Baldwin and other actors and crew members finished filming in Montana, 18 months after the fatal shooting in New Mexico. The film was finally thrown in just a handful of screens.

The filming of October 2021 provided a hard light on the safety of the film set, particularly in low -budget productions.

“Rust” was agreed with problems, including accusations of safety rules and the hiring of crew members without experience such as Gutiérrez. “Rust” was only his second work as the main gun. She also had the task of the support assistant work.

Hours before the fatal shooting, the members of the “Rust” camera crew had left work to protest against security concerns and the lack of housing near the film's set. The crew members complained about the discharges of previous accidental weapons.

Gutiérrez is the stepdaughter of the well -known Hollywood Armorer.
