US President Joe Biden's campaign raised and spent more money than rival Donald Trump's campaign last month, according to a report that showed the president's coffers swelled despite his poor debate performance.

According to the report filed with the Federal Election Commission, Biden's campaign received $64 million in donations last month and spent $59 million on advertising. At the end of June, the party still had $95 million in its accounts.

Trump's account, by contrast, received $21 million in donations and used $10 million. By the end of June, they had $128 million left.

But some 35 Democratic congressmen are urging the 46th president to drop out of the race because of his age and his difficulties on the debate stage. His various campaign events are on hold because some donors have also called on Biden to withdraw.

The largest super PAC supporting Trump, known as MAGA, has received funding from billionaire Elon Musk.

Social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, has created a new hashtag known as #MAGA in support of the former president.

MAGA is reported to have raised more than $22 million during the month, including $5 million in contributions from hotelier Robert Bigelow and Linda McMahon, a former professional wrestling entrepreneur.

On Biden's side, LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman donated $3 million to FF Pac, a super PAC backing the president's reelection effort, a separate filing with the Federal Election Commission showed.
