“Such attacks show that Russia's objectives have not changed. Therefore, it is crucial to continue doing everything possible to protect lives, strengthen our aerial defenses and increase sanctions against Russia. Everything that helps Putin finances the war must collapse,” President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Facebook.
On Friday, Russian forces damaged the Ukrainian energy and gas infrastructure in their first great missile attack since the United States stopped the exchange of intelligence with Ukraine, accumulating pressure on kyiv when President Donald Trump seeks a rapid end of the war.
The Pause in the help and military intelligence of the United States can undermine the aerial defenses of Ukraine, since it is exhausted in advanced missiles and struggle to trace attacks effectively, military analysts say.
Dobropillia, home of some 28,000 people before the war, is located in the Donetsk region of the East of Ukraine, 22 kilometers (13,67 miles) from the line from the front to the north of the Pokrovsk key center, which the Russian troops have been attacking for weeks.
The fight continues
In the midst of the US efforts to sit at kyiv and Moscow at the negotiating table, the parties continue to participate in active hostilities in an attempt to obtain an advantage.

A tank in the Kirishi Petroleum Refinery of Surgutneftegaz, one of the largest in Russia, was damaged by the fall of rubble during an important attack of Ukrainian night drones, said the local official.
The Russian forces, meanwhile, in recent weeks have intensified efforts to expel Kursk's Ukrainian troops, when kyiv's forces organized a ray raid on the border and seized a strip of Russian territory last August.
The Russian Defense Ministry said on Saturday that its troops resumed three villages in the Kursk region of the Ukrainian forces.
Reuters could not independently confirm the battlefield report.
