Waldorf Astoria Doha West Bay opens – Business traveler

Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts has opened the Waldorf Astoria Doha West Bay in the capital of Qatar.

With a facade and main entrance almost identical to New York's original Waldorf Astoria, the 44-story property features 283 rooms and suites, as well as 50 luxury apartments finished in an Art Deco design style.

The lobby features a clock created by Tiffany & Co, handmade in Switzerland. Pay homage to the falcon with a bezel inspired by the tips of falcon feathers.

Wellbeing is a priority at the new property. The Waldorf Astoria Spa, which extends from the 39th to the 43rd floor, features hydrotherapy and salt inhalation relaxation pools, thermal experiences including sensory rain walks, a lounge, and relaxation zones with private Alpha sphere experiences. The spa features a dedicated fitness center with a co-ed and women-only Technogym gym, yoga and Bikram meditation studios, as well as separate juice bars for men and women. Guests can also visit the 26-meter marble-tiled indoor pool or relax in the spa's separate men's and women's pools with heated loungers.

Food and drink options here include Peacock Alley which offers the brand's afternoon tea experience, Ledoux which is a Parisian patisserie, The Cortland Bar serves Levantine cuisine and you can enjoy a gourmet food hall experience at Market, serving New York-inspired delicacies. Other venues set to open include MURU, which will be led by Italian-Argentine chef Mauro Colagreco, and YUN, where guests will dine on modern Cantonese and Taishanese cuisine.

Its meeting and event space includes two ballrooms with capacity for 500 guests each. It also has two board rooms and three multifunctional meeting rooms with access to an outdoor patio.

Waldorf Astoria opens new property in Doha

Ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Hilton opened the Waldorf Astoria Lusail, Doha in Lusail Entertainment City. That property has a combination of 429 rooms, suites and one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments.
