Virgin Atlantic turns 40 this weekend and is celebrating with a series of promotions on fares, reward seat exchanges and products.
The airline was launched on 22 June 1984 and its inaugural service was between London and New York.
Celebrations began earlier this year with the unveiling of a new aircraft named and icond in honor of the airline's founder, Sir Richard Branson.

Now the airline has launched a 40th birthday fare flash sale, with up to £99 (the cost of Virgin's first flight) off return Economy Classic and Delight flights departing the UK by entering the code. FORTY.
There is also £199 off Premium fares and £299 off Upper Class tickets using the same code, and Virgin Atlantic Holidays customers can get up to £200 off holiday packages by entering the code. BIRTHDAY (£25 off per person, plus an extra £100 when you spend a minimum of £3,000).
The offer will be valid until 2359 on Monday, June 24, and is valid for departures between June 24 and December 31, 2024.
Meanwhile, Flying Club members can get a 40 percent discount on award seat redemptions (excluding taxes and fees) when booking by June 24 and traveling during 2024.
And finally Virgin is offering up to 40 per cent off select products from its lifestyle collection, which launched late last year in collaboration with British designers Fenella Smith and Oliver Co.
