Thai Airways to resume second daily rotation in Sydney – Business Traveler

Thai Airways has confirmed it will relaunch a second daily service from its Bangkok hub to Sydney from March 31.

The Star Alliance member will deploy its state-of-the-art Airbus A350-900 aircraft on both daily rotations.

These feature between 30 and 33 Royal Silk business class seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, as well as between 289 and 309 economy class seats, depending on which A350-900 configuration you can get.

Thai Airways is in the process of adding several young A350s to its fleet that were rejected by other airlines during the pandemic and its aftermath, including aircraft that were previously destined for Hainan Airlines and its subsidiaries, so their interiors are slightly different.

TG475 will depart Bangkok daily at 0830 to arrive the same day in Sydney at 2030, and the return service will depart Sydney as TG476 the following morning at 1000 to arrive back in Bangkok at 1620.

Meanwhile, TG471 will depart Bangkok each night at 10:20 p.m. and arrive in Sydney the following morning at 10:20 a.m. local time, and the return TG472 service will depart Sydney at 2:50 p.m. and land back in Bangkok at 9:10 p.m.

Last month, Thai Airways confirmed an order for 45 additional long-haul Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, as well as many additional 787-9s, but also A350-900 and A321 neo aircraft, on a lease basis.

The Thai flag carrier plans to significantly increase its network and revenue with the expanded fleet.
