Take a spring walk to a waterfall with Los Angeles Times

Hello! I am Jaclyn Cosgrove, outdoor reporter at the Times. My work is to explore the mountains surrounding Los Angeles to find the best walks, camps and other adventures so you can address. I also write between a rock, where we present outdoor survival stories every month, and The Wild, our (free!) Weekly outdoor bulletin where I present the best things to do in Los Angeles and southern California. In short, I'm a lot outside!

Would you ever join me? How do you at the end of this month? The Times will organize its fourth increase in subscribers at 9 am on May 24 on a 3.5 -mile walk to Sycamore Canyon Falls.

Hidden at the point of Mugu State Park, Sycamore Canyon Falls is a 55 -foot cascade of several levels near Newbury Park. And hopefully with recent rains, it will continue to flow to enjoy.

There are multiple ways to reach cataracts, but we will take the shortest and most direct form, starting at Rancho Sierra Vista/ Satwiwa in the mountains of Santa Monica. We will start on the Wendy path and open up through the park before entering the Point Mugu State Park. Because we are walking through a state park, dogs are not allowed on this walk. (Trust me, I'm also discouraged!)

I will lead a group of 30 subscribers to the cataracts, where we will pass the time, take images and may even share a snack or two. This walk is moderate and requires good shoes. I will probably bring my posts for traction and welcome you to do the same.

Parking is free and easy. Estacion in the Wendy Trail Head. We will meet at the beginning of the path there.

We will have water bottles for attendees, but you can also bring yours. You must be 18 years of age or older and must sign an exemption before attending. Take a place at Tixr.com.
