Of the dozens of Sunday Fundays we've published, no celebrity has mentioned as many endorsements or brand deals throughout the conversation as easily as Paris Hilton. And that is to be expected. After all, she is the influencer of all influencers.
From her candy-pink velvet Juicy Couture sweatshirts to her army of extravagantly dressed puppies and memorable catchphrases like “That's cool,” Hilton is the epitome of self-branding. Two decades since her television debut on “The Simple Life” with her partner Nicole Richie, which made Hilton a household name, people are still fascinated by her glamorous and glittering lifestyle.
In Sunday Funday, the people of Los Angeles tell us step by step their ideal Sunday in the city. Find ideas and inspiration on where to go, what to eat and how to enjoy life on the weekends.
As a DJ, designer, recording artist, philanthropist and business owner, Hilton has spent the last few years flying around the world approximately 250 days a year. But today, his life seems very different.
In November 2021, the hotel heiress married businessman Carter Reum, and earlier this year, the couple had their first baby, Phoenix, via a surrogate, a secret Hilton kept from everyone, including her family, which she talked about in the latest season of the Peacock show “Paris in Love.” She made headlines again in November when she revealed that she had a baby girl named London through a surrogate on Thanksgiving. (We spoke to Hilton before she arrived in London and, at the time, she didn't mention that she and Reum were expecting.)
“Before Phoenix, I was always on tour or traveling to a different country and doing gigs, appearances, DJing or going somewhere for the launch of one of my products,” he said, adding that he rarely had weekends off. “Now I told my team that it is very important to have weekends with my family.”
With the second season of “Paris in Love” already airing, Hilton is excited to continue revealing behind-the-scenes moments of her new family life.
“It's exciting to show my fans how I enter this next phase of life and become a mother,” said Hilton, whose revealing memory about his complicated past was published in March. “It's like watching the best home videos.”
From lunch poolside at the Beverly Hills Hotel with her family to shopping at the Westfield Century City mall, where she's been going since she was a teenager, here's how she'd spend the perfect day in Los Angeles. This interview has been lightly edited and condensed for length and clarity.
9 am: Wake up and prepare breakfast.
I'll get up around 9am and check my work emails, have some tea and then go out to walk my puppies and feed them. Then I'll start making breakfast for Carter and Phoenix with my new line of cookware. I love making French toast with Frosted Flakes on top, so it's like crispy French toast, and I love making egg frittatas, banana pancakes, freshly squeezed orange juice, and cereal. I also like toast with butter and strawberry jelly and sometimes toasted bagels with strawberry cream cheese, which I'm obsessed with.
10 am: Shopping with the family
I'll give Phoenix a bath and dress him for a family outing on Sunday. We love going to English Rabbit in Beverly Hills. It's this really cute store that has the most adorable clothes and toys. I love walking there. Then we will go to [Westfield] century city shopping center. I like the Marc Jacobs store there and seeing all the new collections that are coming out.
12:30 pm: Lunch by the pool at the Beverly Hills Hotel
Normally we will go to Hotel Beverly Hills for lunch by the pool. I love it there. I've been going since I was little. And when the weather is nice, it is very nice to be outdoors. And we bring Phoenix in, and he sits in the booth with us in his little carrier. We will have a nice family lunch together. I love McCarthy salad; She is one of my favorites and I have eaten there my entire life. And I love their frozen orange Julius drink – it's like frozen orange juice. It's so good. And I love their chicken salad sandwiches on toasted wheat bread. That's usually what I get every time I go there.
1:30 p.m.: Music class with Phoenix
Then we will return home for Phoenix's music classes, which he has a couple of times a week. It has sensory classes, music classes, and art classes, so we'll do that as well as painting. She has been making them since she was about 5 or 6 months old.
2:30 pm: Playtime with Phoenix and our pups
The class lasts about an hour and then I go out with Phoenix and read to him because he loves when I read books to him and play with him. He has all the different toys for him and loves to play with the puppies. He loves animals like me. So we'll lie down in his playroom and I'll read to him with the puppies there. Sundays are usually the only day I have free, so I just want to make sure I can spend as much time as possible with my baby.
3:30 pm: Enjoy the Living Spa with my husband
I'll go down with Carter. We built this wellness center in our house called Living Spa, and [that’s where] We make our wellness day. We have this giant hyperbaric chamber that looks like a spaceship. It's wrapped in a beautiful iridescent, mermaid, unicorn holographic color, just like my car. We bring pillows and blankets and lay there, and I bring my iPad and just do my work. Carter will have his computer and do his work. Or if we want to relax, we just put on a TV show and watch it there. We are there for about 45 minutes and then we go into our cryotherapy machine. It's from this company called Cryo Built – it's like a giant cryogenic machine that's also wrapped in holography like my car. It's pretty cool. We'll be there for about 2½ minutes. It's very cold but it's very good for you.
Then we have this LED light bed that you lie under for red light therapy. I'll stay there for about 20 minutes and then we'll change. Then I'll move on to the Omnilux light, which is like this great professional quality light – it's like another LED red light therapy. It is amazing for generating collagen and making your skin perfect.
Sometimes my facial staff comes and uses our Hydrafacial machine, and I get a facial while I do my work. I always try to multitask and do as much as possible at once.
5:30 p.m.: Order takeout of mr chow
I'll start ordering a family dinner and making Phoenix dinner because he obviously doesn't eat real food yet. Then I will start pureeing all the different vegetables and fruits for your [dinner] and feeding it. So I love ordering on Postmates from mr chow – that's one of my favorites. I love chicken satay. The peanut sauce is crazy. I love pigeon [with lettuce] and lobster in addition to fried rice, green shrimp and crispy meat. We love Mr. Chow.
6:30 pm: Bedtime stories
While we wait for food, I'll go upstairs and tell Phoenix bedtime stories and get him ready for bed because he falls asleep before 7 pm. He'll leave at night because he has a really amazing sleep schedule, so he'll sleep 7pm to 7am, which is really nice.
7 pm: preparation for the work week
When he goes to sleep, I'll start getting ready for the week ahead with work. I will have a call with Bruce Gersh. He is the president of my media company. 11:11 Media. We'll just go over what's going to happen during the week, whether it's photo shoots or whether I'm going to go into the recording studio to record my second album or just getting ready for all the releases of all my exciting projects that the new season of my show is coming up. television, the second season of “Paris in Love”, which [premiered] on November 30 on Peacock. And then I just go over everything that's going on, like my new skincare line that I'm developing and my new clothing line. …Also, I review all the offers that come in because every week I get a lot of offers and I try to decide which ones I want to do and which ones I won't have time for.
8 p.m.: Martinis and 'The Simple Life'
Then from 8 to 11 pm I'll be with Carter, we'll spend time with mom and dad together and talk about the weekend, about the baby, about upcoming trips for the holidays. Plus, we like to drink a Gray Goose martini while we watch [reruns of] “The simple life.” After a busy week, it's nice to end the week with a good martini, and my favorite order has always been the Gray Goose martini. In fact, I partnered with the brand to be their martini creative director, so I'm working on their newly launched ready-to-serve bottled martini. It's called the Gray Goose Classic Martini Cocktail. I love that it's already bottled and brewed, so you literally just shake or stir it, pour it over ice, and enjoy. And you can be your own bartender on a Sunday night.
11 pm: Get ready to go to sleep.
We'll just relax, then go to bed and get ready for a busy Monday.
