The Lufthansa Group currently operates 17 weekly flights from Seoul Incheon International Airport.
This is because the SWISS group subsidiary launched a three-times-weekly non-stop service between Incheon and its Zurich hub last week.
Flight LX123 now departs Seoul every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 09:55 and arrives in Zurich at 16:50 on the same day.
In the opposite direction, flight LX122 departs Zurich at 1:40 p.m. every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday and arrives in Incheon at 8:25 a.m. the next day.
SWISS operates its Airbus A340-300 aircraft to Seoul.
The airline's A340-300s feature eight first-class suites, 47 lie-flat seats in business class and 168 seats in economy class configured 2-4-2.
“With 17 weekly flights, the Lufthansa Group now operates non-stop services to Frankfurt, Munich and Zurich, where we offer Korean passengers direct connections from our hubs to Europe's largest network. “We have connected Korea to Europe for 40 years and the introduction of flights with Switzerland's national airline represents our commitment to this important market,” said Lufthansa Group Airlines Korea CEO Leandro Tonidandel.
SWISS parent company Lufthansa currently operates a daily A350-900 service between Incheon and Munich, as well as a daily Boeing 747-8 flight between Incheon and Frankfurt.
Another Star Alliance airline, Asiana Airlines, also operates daily A350-900 service between Seoul and Frankfurt, as does Korean Air, which will take over Asiana pending final regulatory approvals.
