Korean Air Cargo expands partnership with Vienna Airport
Dark/light mode (02/22/24) Korean Air has signed an agreement to strengthen its partnership with Vienna Airport (VIE).
Located in the heart of Europe and with a history of serving as a bridge between Eastern and Western Europe, Austria serves as a vital gateway to neighboring nations such as Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic.
With continued Korean manufacturing investments in the area, the airline anticipates increased air cargo demand in the coming years.

“The neighboring countries of Austria and Asia have been closely linked economic regions through international air freight traffic for many years. Especially in the automotive and electronics sectors, Asian companies depend on the manufacturing capabilities of the Eastern European region,” said Julian Jäger, Joint CEO and Chief Operating Officer of Vienna Airport (Flughafen Wien AG). “TKorean Air has been a major air cargo partner for 20 years and I am pleased that we can now further expand our long-standing partnership in the cargo sector with this agreement.”
Korean Air plans and the Vienna Airport plant to work together to attract a greater share of the lucrative air cargo business through joint marketing initiatives aimed at carriers and customers. Korean Air will also share market and industry insights with the airport.
“We are pleased to announce our collaboration with Vienna International Airport,” said Jaedong Eum, senior vice president and head of Korean Air's cargo business division. “Korean Air is fully committed to improving air cargo services and ensuring maximum customer satisfaction between Korea and Vienna with this agreement.”
Korean Air is among the world's top five cargo carriers and is the largest trans-Pacific cargo airline in terms of capacity. The airline has a fleet of 23 dedicated cargo aircraft operating a network covering 47 cities in 28 countries.
