Growing up in Chicago suburbs, Marlee Matllin always waited for Sundays.
It was the only day off his father, so his family made a weekly tradition of meeting with close friends for breakfast at a local Delicatessen store. Subsequently, she and her family of five would do a friendly activity for the season, the collection of apples in the fall or a game of the Chicago puppies during the summer, perhaps, before ending with a final event they called “Sundays to take.”

On Sunday Funday, the people of Los Angeles give us a play per game of their ideal Sunday in the city. Find ideas and inspiration about where to go, what to eat and how to enjoy life on weekends.
“On Sundays they were always my favorite day because I knew we would all be together,” says Matllin, who became the first deaf actor to win an Oscar in 1987 at the tender age of 21. During our zoom call, he communicated through an interpreter.

“What better way to have two deaf women who have similar shared life experiences to tell my story?” Matllin says. In the 1980s, he convinced legislators to add subtitles to television programming.
The veteran actor and activist has been a “California girl” self -proclaimed for almost 40 years, but says she will always be a “Chicago girl from the heart.” (The horizon of the neighborhood in which he grew up, Morton Grove, proudly tattooed in his forearm). These days, enjoy empty life with her husband Kevin Grandalski. Its ideal Sunday in Los Angeles implies visiting the Academy Museum Museum, obtaining its steps at the Rose Bowl, having a pizza portion in Eagle Rock and spending quality time with its 14 -month granddaughter.

6 AM: Take care of my pets
If I had the option, I would probably wake up at 8 am, but since I have a cat, it's 6 in the morning, I also have a dog that needs to be taken to walk. Like a fool, bark any other dog we find, and I have apologized to each dog owner.
Then me have to have breakfast. I am a breakfast person. Do not jump it. I love my oatmeal with a little brown sugar and blueberries. If I am in humor, I will do some turkey bacon and make sure it is more crunchy, and I drink my red bull sugar. I know I'm going to have a lot of pussy because I drink a bull network in the morning, but that's what I drink. I like my drink, and it's as simple as that. I don't drink coffee. I wish I did, but I don't like the taste.
After breakfast on the road, I have to make my bed. I can't even get out of the house with a bed without doing. I have to make the bed immediately, and my husband knows it very well.
10 am: Go buy new threads
I could go to Rose bowl Either for the flea market, which is open once a month or for walking. Before undergoing feet surgery, I was always going to walk around the Rose Bowl at least twice for a total of six miles. I love walking by power.
Then, I would go to a couple of boutiques that I like. I am a great defender of small local businesses, so I stopped me Fold in Pasadena and Everson Clare In the Cañada Flintridge. Both are owned by women and care about their customers. Both are very good my friends. Both work very hard to open their stores. I saw them from the beginning to where they are today. They have different clothing styles that seem to adapt well. Then there are some stores that I will go to Studio City. You can find me in Sephora, Nordstrom either Tribute.

2 PM: Choose A favorite Los Angeles activity
If we are in humor to be active, we will go to Rest gardens Oa a Dodgers game. We recently went to Art shotAnd it's a lot of fun. It is similar to the Paintball. You create art on a canvas while turning. I have just been re -elected as the governor of the Academy MuseumSo I'll make sure to go there. Being governor and member of the Academy, they have been nothing more than support to my community and many other sub -present communities as well. All those who have a love for cinema or history [and] How movies are made should go to the museum. Even if you [do] No, it will surprise you.

4 pm: quality time with my granddaughter
Then I will return home to spend time with my granddaughter, who is 14 months old. We will have play time in the house. She is always exploring. She loves cat. She runs behind her, and I'm always the one I have to run after the baby. So we are all three running: cat, baby, then me. I will take her to the park, which is on the street. Just being with her is the most important thing. We are amazed to see it grow, explore the world and see what you learn. That is the perfect Sunday for me.
6 PM: Enjoy an early dinner
I love cooking on Sundays and dinner early. I have a series of kitchen books and recipes that I have printed. I will only take that great battery and look for it. I am not someone who investigates much. I only choose one and then I do it. I love barbecue and I love to bake the desserts. I have a sweetness. I configured a caramel bar, like a sweet bar, in my house. It is dangerous to have a caramel bar. Wait until my granddaughter grows older enough to realize what the caramel bar really is about.
But if I don't feel like cooking, we could go to Bianca house. It is a pizzeria in Eagle Rock. Pizzas, Mozarella sticks and salads are fantastic. The chicken piccata is great, and the people who possess it are wonderful and very cozy people.

8 pm: backgammon before bedtime
I will spend time with my husband after dinner, and we will clean it. Then I checked my phone to see what comes for the week. Depending on what is happening, I will get in touch with the children and play backgammon on my phone, it only spends time however. And I will give a night walk. Before closing the store, I have to get the dog once more. I go to bed early. Normally I'm in bed at 9:30 pm
