How to have the best Sunday in Los Angeles, according to Lilly Singh

As most aspects of his life, Lilly Singh approaches at the end of the weekend with a clear intention. “Sunday is a big problem for me,” she says. “Sunday is my self -love, restart day.”

The actress and the personality of the comedy began a race in her native Toronto as an early YouTube star. He moved to Los Angeles in 2015, landing for the first time in a place near the tar wells of the break before moving to a house in the San Fernando Valley that he shares with his dogs, Office and Soca.

“I moved to Los Angeles to be warm and the valley is very warm,” says Singh. “When people complain that it's too hot, I'm thriving.”

He previously presented the NBC interview program “A Little Late With Lilly Singh” and directed the Disney+ “The Muppets Mayhem” comedy. More recently, he co -wrote, produced and starred in the movie “Doin 'It”, playing an application manufacturer that is hired to teach a sex class and decides that he needs his own practical education on the subject. It opens in cinemas on Friday.

Singh was a night owl during most of his life, often remaining awake until the early hours of the morning and waking up at noon. To improve your mental health, you have adjusted your approach and now gets up during the week at 7 am, so you have two hours to prepare mentally and physically for the day.

However, there is a day of the week in which he shows himself compassion and makes an exception. “I'm probably not going to put an alarm on a Sunday,” she says.

This interview has been slightly edited by length and clarity.

9 am: daily routine
Every morning, I have certain mental health routines. I will always have a newspaper in my front courtyard, and I will always stretch and do the work of breath. Those are non -negotiable.

9:30 am: Market Essentials
After treating and feeding dogs, stop number 1 is Studio City farmers market. I will die in the hill to say that it is the best farmers market. I take one thing in the farmers market very seriously, which is Kefir's yogurt. I literally have a yogurt dealership, Orlando. I have to send a text message on Saturday night to be, “hold these flavors for me.” If you go there and do not send them text messages, they are exhausted. When the Alphonso mango is in season, you must get to 7 am to get it.

I walk both ways, so basically I am a legend in form because, we are usually very hot.

10 am: flower power
I have flowers every Sunday. If I do not get them from the farmers market, I will get them in Trader Joe's. Every Sunday, I restart my house in terms of flowers. I put flowers in every corner of my house. I spend an hour just making small bouquets and putting them on my desk and in my kitchen and in my bathrooms because it is an easy trick to hit the dopamine and makes me happy throughout the week.

11 am: The best brunch date
Almost every Sunday, I take me in a solo brunch. No one can come with me. This is me taking me in an appointment.

I go to the same place every time: Sweet butter kitchen. Ventura is just below. I get an egg breakfast with two doors on the side of two stalls with toast of fermented dough. I get my bacon. Depending on how much I have worked that week and how much I want to spoil, I will also receive pancakes.

I love the atmosphere. I will take my newspaper or sometimes I will go out and enjoy my own company.

Noon: planning session
Every third Sunday, I make a monthly reflection. I trace my last month against my annual goals.

I will also plan my social activities for next month. Almost every month, I organize a poker night. Almost every Thursday, I have a dinner. I will make sure that my social calendar is full for next month because in Los Angeles, if you don't do that, you won't have friends and you will be alone.

I am very close to my diary. It is a hard newspaper that is soft to the touch, with a specific pen of Sharpie 1.0. It is the only pen I want to use. And the Journal has a pen for pen, which is also crucial. And he has the chain that keeps his page, also crucial. And it has lines. I don't want a newspaper that doesn't have lines. You have to have a small flap on the back that contains all my documents.

In my adult life, I've always been so organized. Perhaps not at university or in high school, but as I have become a career woman, I like being very, very organized.

1 pm: tastes from home
I am ready to eat again because on Sundays they are to eat. I love SMORGASBURG LA. Coming from Toronto, I am really used to Caribbean food and Asian food. In Los Angeles, I feel that the best international food I've found is in Smorgasburg.

If I want to hang out with friends or if someone is inside the city and I want to show you a good time, we will go there.

3 PM: Sunshine State
I think the sun's time is very important and nature is so important. Throughout the week, I cannot always spend time outside, so I spend all the time as possible outside, and that is lying on the grass with my dogs or is in my pool.

5 pm: on list A
I do not want you to think that I am a lonely, but if I am ever doing things alone, more often it will be a Sunday. I love going to the movies. For me it is AMC in Universal [CityWalk]. My highest quality, this is not even an ad, is that I am a AMC STUBS A-LIST member. I take it very seriously.

I would probably go to dinner and then to a movie. So I have no corn pop Kiwami By katsu-yThat is in Ventura. It is one of my favorite places in Sushi. It feels very small and intimate. They have the best Lychee Martinis, and I am a great feminine of Lychee Martini. The staff knows me because I go so frequently and they are very fast with the service.

It is crucial for me to tell you that one of the reasons why I go to the cinema is that I am crazy to see the previous views. My friends always make me lose progress. I love getting early and I love being sitting for previous views. Sometimes I went to the theater 10 minutes before something is on the screen.

I like Universal because it is full of tourists. As someone who was not born and grew up in Los Angeles, I love to see people to experience when I am walking from parking to the theater, people have their things of Super Nintendo World and have their universal merchande. They are very excited to be there, and it reminds me, like, oh yes, this is a really exciting place for people.

10 pm: Ready for next week
I will return home, I will hug the dogs, then I assure myself that I am ready for the week. I make sure my house is in a good place. I make sure my flowers are exploiting. I will probably make a hydromassage bathtub or a sauna moment, then I will make my skin care routine.

11 PM: A last diary entry
I don't like to see anything in my room because sleeping is a big thing for me. I have some insomnia, so I really try to finish. In my night table, I have my nightly newspaper and do a little self -pity diary.
