Hong Kong Airlines plans flights to Urumqi – Business traveler

Hong Kong Airlines is preparing to launch a service to Urumqi in Xinjiang, according to its latest schedule update.

The airline has uploaded a three-times-weekly widebody Airbus A330-300 schedule to the system, starting June 22.

Hong Kong Airlines' A330-300 aircraft comes in a two-class configuration, with 32 seats in 1-2-1 lie-flat business class and 260 seats in 2-4-2 economy class.

Flights from Hong Kong to Urumqi are scheduled to operate every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, departing Hong Kong in the afternoon and arriving in Xinjiang at 22:00.

Return flights will depart that afternoon and land back in Hong Kong early the next morning.

The new service is not yet open to reservations.

Hong Kong Airlines currently operates nine A330 aircraft and 12 smaller A320 aircraft on regional services after eliminating its long-haul routes to the US in 2020.

The airline will be the second airline to provide services between Hong Kong and Urumqi after China Southern Airlines, which will resume its twice-weekly Boeing 737-800 narrowbody service from March 31.
