Finnair presents summer menu for business class passengers – Business Traveler

Finnair has launched a summer menu “inspired by the Nordic flavors of summer”, available until October 29, 2024.

For those traveling in business class, the Finnish airline offers the choice of three starters (salmon sashimi, shrimp tartlet and summer vegetables) as well as three main dishes: slow-cooked beef in a dough crust with mushroom duxelle , mashed roots, roasted vegetables and red wine sauce; panko-coated rainbow trout, sautéed leek, and roasted vegetables with horseradish and mustard; and a third route-specific option.

Meanwhile, premium economy customers will be served a main meal and a lighter meal or snack, with complimentary hot and cold snacks and alcoholic beverages (excluding sparkling wine) throughout the flight.

Meanwhile, those traveling in economy class on long-haul flights receive a hot meal with a complimentary glass of wine (except sparkling wine), plus a light meal or snack with a non-alcoholic drink before landing.

For long-haul flights, business class customers (and premium economy flights departing from Helsinki) can select their preferred main course in advance via Finnair's “Manage Booking” page.

The airline has also updated the items available for purchase on short-haul flights in the economy cabin. Hot dishes include vegetable bolognese pasta, vegetarian korma curry noodles and berry oatmeal, while snacks on offer include cashews, blueberry muffins and licorice.

Depending on the route, customers can also book a sandwich or a hot meal, with options including grilled chicken fillet with carrot spaghetti, carrot puree and pea pesto, or stewed beef with chips, onions, beans greens and licorice sauce.

The airline's drinks menu has also been revamped and now offers a rosé wine for the holiday season.

Sami Oksava, head of development at Finnair, said:

“When planning inflight meals, we take into account route destinations, flight times and schedules, and the typical demographic of customers flying on particular routes.

“On our long-haul flights from Helsinki to Singapore, Nagoya, Hong Kong and Shanghai, our in-flight service concept has been renewed to take into account the delay in flight departure and benefit our customers.

“On these routes, we first offer a light meal in Business Class and a delicious brunch before the flight lands. The Business Class brunch consists of breakfast-style starters and a selection of desserts, as well as three main courses to choose from. “We also offer lighter brunch-style meals in Premium Economy and Economy classes on these routes before landing.”
