Cathay Pacific and Marriott Bonvoy offer status matching – Business Traveler

Marriott Bonvoy and Cathay Pacific have launched a preferred partnership allowing Bonvoy Platinum, Titanium and Ambassador members to receive Cathay Silver (oneworld Ruby) and a fast track to Cathay Gold (oneworld Sapphire).

Marriott Bonvoy Platinum members and above can earn Cathay Gold with 300 instead of 600 status points. You must achieve this during your Silver membership and status points can be earned on any Cathay partner airline.

Cathay Silver, Gold and Diamond members automatically receive Marriott Bonvoy Gold status. If you spend 10 or more nights at Marriott hotels within six months of linking your Cathay and Bonvoy accounts, you'll earn Platinum status until early 2026.

For example, 300 Cathay Status Points can be earned by flying two full-fare round trips from Hong Kong to London with Cathay in premium economy, or almost three round trips in discounted premium economy.

Marriott Bonvoy points can be mutually redeemed with Asia Miles from Cathay. With the two-way conversion program, three (3) Marriott Bonvoy points can be converted into one (1) Asia Mile and 2 Asia Miles can be converted into one (1) Marriott Bonvoy point.

Bonvoy has launched a similar status matching campaign with Singapore Airlines, and the program has many other airline loyalty partnerships, including status matching opportunities.

“Together with Cathay, the expansion of our global airline partnership program presents an opportunity to engage more members in the region as they go even further and explore new destinations around the world,” said Alison Yang, vice president of strategy. of income, loyalty and associations. , Distribution, Greater China, Marriott International.
