British Airways introduces Thames Clippers discount fares to London City Airport – Business Traveler

British Airways has launched a new partnership with Thames Clippers service, offering customers discounted fares to London City Airport.

The river bus service (officially called Uber Boat by Thames Clippers) stops at 24 piers between Putney Pier in the west and Barking Riverside in the east.

The closest stop to the City of London is Royal Wharf Pier, which opened in 2019 and is just over a mile from the airport, or a couple of stops on the DLR.

Travelers can get 25 percent off tickets using the code BALCY25 – customers can take advantage of the discount when traveling to or from London City Airport with same-day flights, with the terms and conditions of the offer stating that “passengers may be asked to present their boarding pass from British Airways as proof of eligibility for the discount.

The discount means customers can get tickets from £4.20 when traveling within the East Zone and £7.69 when traveling from central London.

In addition to the fare discount, customers can get a free hot drink at the onboard bat café when they show their boarding pass.

The first eastbound service arrives at Royal Wharf Pier at 0604 on weekdays and 0944 at weekends, with the last services arriving at 2341 and 2351 respectively.

Meanwhile, the first westbound departures from Royal Wharf Pier are at 0641 on weekdays and 0826 on weekends, with the last services departing at 2136 and 2056 respectively.

Commenting on the news, Tom Stoddart, CEO of BA Cityflyer, said:

“Flying from the city of London is not only a convenient and fast way to travel, it also allows our customers to really enjoy our brilliant city.

“With views of the Canary Wharf skyline and the River Thames, it is an airport like no other and working with Uber Boat by Thames Clippers helps us extend the London experience beyond the airport.”
