Air Astana expands its network to 50 routes – Business Traveler

Kazakh flag carrier Air Astana expanded its route network in 2023 with the launch of new services and increased frequencies to destinations in China, India, Central and Southeast Asia, the Caucasus, the Mediterranean, the Middle East and the United Kingdom .

The Almaty-based airline currently operates 50 routes to 34 destinations and carried 4.4 million passengers during the period from September 30, 2022 to September 30, 2023.

The year also notably marked the 20th anniversaries of Air Astana’s routes on services to Bangkok, Frankfurt, Istanbul and Seoul, while those to Beijing and Dubai date back even further to the airline’s early days.

The fleet of Air Astana and its low-cost airline FlyArystan increased to 49 aircraft, including Airbus, Boeing and Embraer types.

The group plans to further expand the fleet over the next five years, which will then consist solely of Airbus A320neo, A321neo, A321LR and Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft as Air Astana separates from its Embraer E2 fleet.

Air Astana says the continued expansion of its fleet demonstrates the airline’s commitment to operating environmentally efficient aircraft, which also offer greater comfort to passengers.

With the fleet expanding and the associated need to increase the number of flight and cabin crew, Air Astana recently officially commissioned a new flight training center in Astana equipped with the state-of-the-art L3 Harris full flight simulator.
