NYT Strands today (game #123): the answers
The answers to today's Strands game #123 are…
- FIREWORKS
- BENGAL
- PICNIC
- FLAG
- PARADE
- SPANGRAM: INDEPENDENCE DAY
- My rating: Easy
- My score: Perfect
Happy 4th of July everyone! I don't celebrate it because I'm in the UK. No, I'm still not saddened that we lost the Revolutionary War, it's just not what we're talking about here. That might have made the game a little harder, but frankly, the NYT made it very easy for everyone today.
First of all, the spangram is INDEPENDENCE DAY, which takes up no less than 15 of the 48 letters on the board. That only left room for five standard answers, and one of them, FIREWORKS, was very easy to find, and nine others were used.
Second, the answers here are not specific to a US celebration – the symbols of PARADE, FLAG, and BILLS are mainstays of national days everywhere, so picking them out one by one really wasn't a challenge.
How did your day go? Send me an email and let me know.
