Following the release of a classic Pikachu-themed clog earlier this year, it appears footwear manufacturer Crocs has once again teamed up with The Pokémon Company for the release of four new collaborative designs.
The information comes from sneaker release tracking website Sole Retriever, which reports that four Pokémon characters will be getting the Classic Clog treatment over the next year. This means new sneaker designs based on Gengar, Charizard, Snorlax, and Jigglypuff could be hitting stores soon.
As you might expect, the Gengar-inspired clog comes in a dark purple hue and is covered in smoky pink and black swirls. It’s adorned with some Jibbitz (those are the little plastic badges designed to cover up the numerous holes on the top of each shoe, in case you didn’t know) that are designed in the image of the creature and its various noxious attacks.
The Charizard edition comes in a bright orange, with light yellow and bright red detailing. It comes with flames and Charizard Jibbitz. If you prefer something a little cooler, the Snorlax shoe is a bright blue, with clean white swirls that make it look a bit like the ocean. Its Jibbitz include a chubby Snorlax sleeping with 'ZZZZzzz' text attached in a bubble.
I've saved my personal favorite for last: the adorable Jigglypuff edition. It's a really cute pink and white pattern, with Jigglypuff's Jibbitz singing in addition to some pink musical notes. The back of each of these shoes features a Pokemon The Pokéball logo and emblem are visible on the side, so everyone will know you're wearing a collaboration design.
Each pair will cost $70, which seems like a pretty steep price for two plastic shoes. Still, as someone who wears Crocs to the office almost every day (yes, really), I think the comfort is worth it and I wouldn't mind shelling out a little extra for one of these designs when they become available.
