The answers to today's Quordle, game #885, are…

There are some uncommon words in Quordle today. ROUSE and DOWNY certainly aren't used that often, and ATOLL is rare and a nightmare to solve, with a repeated L at the end. MAXIM is even worse: M at the beginning and end of the solution, the unusual letter X in the middle.

All of which adds up to a difficult Quordle, and I suspect it will beat some people. Luckily for me, my opening word strategy gave me a good opening for the game, and I only “lost” one bet (to MAXIM; I played MAFIA first), meaning I ended up at eight bets. The Daily Sequence was equally difficult, with the obscure word VERSE (one page on the left) being the final answer.
