The answers to today's Quordle, game #847, are…

This is a potentially very difficult Quordle, although, as always, a lot will depend on what your strategy is. Mine is to start with three fixed words, STARE, DOILY, and PUNCH, which together use 15 of the most common letters of the alphabet, including the five vowels. Furthermore, most of those letters appear in their most common positions; for example, S is likely to be at the beginning, Y at the end, and so on.

Sometimes it just works. Today was one of those days. And it was better, because with repeated letters in SPREE, CACHE and RADII, and the latter being a more obscure word than most, it could have been much more difficult for me. However, my initial three words gave me a very good opening and I was then able to solve each of them in consecutive guesses, leaving me with two free guesses.
