NYT Strands today (game #178): the answers
The answers to today's Strands game #178 are…
- TRANSPORT
- TRAIN
- TRAM
- MONORAIL
- METRO
- SPANGRAM: PUBLIC TRANSPORT
- My rating: Easy
- My rating: Perfect
This is an incredibly simple and very easy Strands puzzle, with no real complications. The “Benefits for Travelers” themed clue pretty much gives the game away, and once you find clues like FERRY or TRAIN, you’ll know exactly what you need to do.
That said, there was one small complication: the spangram was very long and possibly difficult to find. I saw TRANSPORT at first and assumed it was part of the spangram, but it didn't turn yellow and I knew it wouldn't work, because it didn't touch two sides of the board. It was only relatively late that I realized it had the word PUBLIC in front of it, at which point everything fell into place.
