I always have a hard time when Connections uses a lot of short words. I guess it makes sense – there tend to be more ways they could be used as prefixes etc. Anyway, that probably explains why I made a mistake at first, guessing TUE, WED, SAT and SUN as days of the week. only to find out he was on the wrong path.
The breakthrough came when I looked at one of the longer words, PLACED, and formed the blue group. Like this one, green were simple synonyms, and with only eight words remaining, the yellow cluster homophones became evident.
As was your day? Send me an email and let me know.

What is NYT Connections?
NYT Connections is one of the increasingly popular word games created by the New York Times. It challenges you to find groups of four items that share something in common, and each group has a different level of difficulty: green is easy, yellow is a little harder, blue is usually quite difficult, and purple is usually very difficult.
On the plus side, you don't technically have to solve the final question, as you'll be able to answer it through a process of elimination. What's more, you can make up to four mistakes, which gives you a bit of breathing room.
However, it's a little more complicated than something like Wordle and there are plenty of opportunities for the game to trip you up with tricks. For example, be careful with homophones and other puns that could disguise answers.
It can be played for free through the NYT Games site on desktop or mobile devices.
