Helping your business stand out on LinkedIn could be even easier thanks to a new verification tool on the platform.
The business-focused job site has announced it will add a new way for companies to show that their page is an official representation of them on LinkedIn, in hopes of cutting down on fakes or imposters.
The new verification tool for business pages will give users a verified shield badge on their page, next to their logo, showing that they are an authentic business.
LinkedIn Verification for Company Pages
“We know that authenticity is key to creating meaningful interactions,” said a LinkedIn blog post announcing the launch. “A verified badge on a LinkedIn Page helps signal to members and customers that it is an official Page of the organization, and in turn, helps the organization build trust with its audience.”
Some lucky businesses have been pre-approved and will see verification badges appear on their pages in the coming weeks. Admins who would like to have their pages verified can submit a request and join a waitlist for possible future verification.
However, LinkedIn notes that waitlists will be reviewed “periodically” and submitting a waitlist request does not guarantee you will be successful, though it does say it will look to expand the availability of verified badges in the coming months.
The company says that “several factors” will be taken into account when determining whether an organization's Page is legitimate enough to be verified (or not). This includes the accuracy of “certain data” on the Page, such as the location and website URL, the active presence of a Page administrator, and compliance with certain LinkedIn policies.
The launch is LinkedIn's latest effort to improve the user experience and ensure that job seekers are interacting with the companies they want to target.
This follows the recent launches of user verification in May 2023 and ‘Verification for Jobs’, which gives users additional information about a verified job poster, as part of its effort to have 100 million verified members by 2025.
