Dyson Beauty's new limited-edition colorway is “inspired by the summer solstice” and might be my favorite yet

  • Dyson Beauty has a new limited edition colorway for its hair care devices
  • It's called 'Ceramic Apricot and Topaz' and it combines oranges and golds
  • Dyson calls it 'The color of summer 2026'

Dyson has revealed a new look for its hair care tools. Inspired by the summer solstice, the 'Ceramic Apricot and Topaz' colorway combines shades of vibrant tangerine orange, soft apricot blush, and hints of gold and pink. Dyson says the color scheme captures “the astronomical, visual and psychological resonance of the longest, brightest day of the year.”

While that might be a bit of a stretch, I'm certainly a fan. The warm tones remind me of summer vacations and prepare me for brighter nights and milder temperatures. (The announcement was particularly timely for me, as in the south-west of England we are just beginning to see the first signs of spring, after months of heavy rain and gray skies.)

“When researching the solstice, we were inspired by mapping changes in daylight intensity, temperature and the color spectrum,” explains Amelia Ayerst, manager of the Dyson CMF (Colors, Materials, Finishes) team. “Using this data, we mixed pigments that mimic the highest wavelengths of visible light found at dawn, midday, and dusk: warm apricots, bold oranges, and playful pinks.”

Apricot and a vibrant orange are used for the main body of each styling tool, with a metallic pink on the filter housing and touches of gold for the buttons and switches. Amelia describes it as “a palette that radiates liberation, energy and celebration, bringing the outdoors inside and representing the high-energy vitality of the sun.”

Dyson is launching its 'colour of summer 2026' across its haircare range, including the Airwrap multistyler, Airstrait wet drying straightener and Supersonic Nural and Supersonic r hairdryers. The Dyson Corrale iron does not appear in the press images, so it may not be included.
