Weinsanto Fall 2024 Runway Review, Fashion Show and Ready-to-Wear Collection

While it's been a dominant trend this fall season, dressing like a lady means something different at Weinsanto, and in more ways than one.

Victor Weinsanto titled his collection “Lady Weinsanto” after his six-month-old puppy, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and also drew inspiration from the colorful ladies in his life, most of them firmly in touch with their inner vampire.

The designer applied his corset lacing fetish to the front of the tight-fitting LBD that opened the show, and to the back of the stiff, floor-length white leather bridal column that closed the exhibition, staged at the nightclub. Bisou, shaped like a bunker.

Club kids will opt for their spectacular black jeans with clunky lacing at the outside seams, or their cool bomber jackets with corset waists.

Ladies lunching in Dimes Square or Rue Oberkampf can wear a long, deep purple coat or a lime green shirtdress with an asymmetrical hem.

Except for a few bursts of expressive color, including Barbie pink for a knit dress, the show had a melancholy mood, with black lace mourning veils finishing off some of the many all-black ensembles.

A model in a stiff black leather skirt raised the mood by opening a compartment in the hem, removing her cell phone and using it as a mirror to check her “lewdness.” It was fierce.

Speaking of fierce, don't call Weinsanto's dog Lady “unless you're friends with her,” the designer warned with a laugh. “She is very shy. Actually, she hates people.”
