Toteme's first show at Paris Fashion Week

Toteme's style universe expanded Monday night with its first show in Paris. She marked the 10th anniversary of the Swedish brand, co-founded by her husband and wife Karl Lindman and Elin King.

Overall, it was a calming, cohesive presentation of precise, polished and highly wearable wardrobe staples that fit deftly between men's week (with this season's menswear tailoring) and high fashion (with its continued focus on sustainability and craft).

“We always stayed true to our DNA, but now we have a lot of confidence in our uniform,” King said after the show. And he proved it.

Outerwear was a point of emphasis, with looser-cut blazers that sloped gently at the shoulders while maintaining their scaffolding, while coats were single-breasted or faux fur that generated plenty of volume. The pants were slim-fitting and sat gently below the waist, with slim, relaxed belts at the hips.

Some of the looks were elevated versions of her archival pieces, reinterpreting her viral scarf jacket with a wrap-neck sweater. Layers of light fabrics were placed to wrap the body like a soft hug.

This season's shades of cream, caramel and chocolate made up much of the relaxing palette.

Pointed shoes were the only sharp element of the collection, with a vaguely '90s feel.

Speaking backstage, the duo made it clear that they are designing with the real-life working woman in mind and have no intention of doing anything else. Its market is clear and expanding. They added the jewelry category last fall and expanded handbags for fall, some of which were seen on this runway.

The brand took over the former Balenciaga space on London's Mount Street on December 15 and will open its first doors in Los Angeles in early April.

Whats Next? Lindman joked: “We're going to the moon.”
