Shiatzy Chen Fall 2024 Runway Review, Fashion Show and Ready-to-Wear Collection

Shiatzy Chen turned to the four key stationery staples of Chinese culture (writing brush, ink stick, ink block, paper) and traditional Chinese calligraphy for inspiration for Fall 2024.

With a clever and enduring juxtaposition of Western silhouettes and Eastern details, Chen proposed a chic and cheerful wardrobe for globetrotters who live between cultures and who love to dress accordingly to show their multicultural appreciation.

Highlights included a bright tweed dress with a qipao collar, a Mao suit-inspired long coat with brushstroke embroidery on the front, a white pop-over made of intertwined ribbons, a slip dress covered in sorbet yellow lace, pieces tailored with black style. fil coupé jacquard and outerwear embroidered with exquisite cherry blossoms and orchid motifs in jade ink.

As China increasingly seeks to encourage the next generation to embrace traditional culture, Chen has the opportunity to create a strong resonance with today's consumers and ride the trend of “new Chinese style.”

The appointment of Chinese singer Liu Yu, whose presence at the fair generated considerable online buzz at Xiaohongshu, could be just the start of bigger buzz for the 46-year-old brand.
