Christa Bösch and Cosima Gadient continued to explore with Ottolinger's latest collection the notion of what comes after sleepless nights on the dance floor for a woman who has more important things to do in her life.
The duo came up with a slew of deconstructed traditional suits and dresses, as well as body-hugging knits. They also believed that their faux fur-covered, tweed-inlaid items, when mixed as intended, gave “a good airport look.”
“She's a top-notch salon-going boss, so we have very relaxed pants with a shirt and tie. We wanted to challenge the concept of being in charge and deconstruct it, and find that balance of how you can evolve. [the brand] into something subtle and elegant,” they added.
As cleverly reimagined tailoring took center stage, the brand narrowed its love of bold prints to just a handful of styles, including a capsule featuring Swiss-based internet provider Swisscom's 079 fashion line, named after the area code of the neutral state, where the duo originated.
Some models carried logo shopping bags down the runway. The duo said it was a commentary on the show's location on Boulevard Haussmann in front of the Galeries Lafayette, as well as a satirical take on how big brands have been handing out luxury price tags in the form of shopping bags to get cash on cash.
