It’s official: vibrant Danish label Ganni is set to enter the Parisian fashion scene, with a highly anticipated show scheduled for late September. The sustainable and eco-conscious womenswear label, a regular at Copenhagen Fashion Week where it has been showing for over 10 years, has announced that it will be staging a show at 3:30pm CET on Tuesday 24 September in the French capital, in parallel with the official schedule of the upcoming Paris Fashion Week.
Ganni, which is all about collaborations, launched a highly inclusive capsule collection in spring, developed in collaboration with plus-size model Paloma Elsesser. For autumn, it has teamed up for the third time with American sportswear brand New Balance, introducing a pair of sneakers with a bold leopard print motif.
This new edition of the unisex 80s-style T500 model, made from recycled materials and updated with a more contemporary touch, will be launched globally on September 20, four days before Ganni's first show in Paris.
The Paris show is the cornerstone of Ganni's global strategy
Ganni, a highly sought-after brand, is positioned in the affordable luxury segment. It has recently introduced a host of technological innovations and obtained B Corp status in September 2022. In January, Ganni skipped Copenhagen Fashion Week. Instead, the creative duo at the helm of the brand, Ditte and Nicolaj Reffstrup, opted for an exhibition format, celebrating the new wave of Danish designers.
For Ganni, a brand that relies on volume effects and creative patterns and that has notably graced the likes of Gigi Hadid, Beyoncé and Michelle Obama, organising its first show outside its homeland, during a major event such as Paris Fashion Week, is a way of boosting its internationalisation strategy and positioning itself as a leading brand in the world of contemporary fashion.
“Ganni has established itself globally and as we enter our next chapter of growth, exhibiting in Paris is a natural evolution for the value and scale of our brand,” said Laura Du Rusquec, Ganni’s CEO, who was appointed in April, in a press release. “Paris offers an unparalleled global platform and we are excited to present our Spring/Summer 2025 collection, alongside our continued vision and commitment to responsibility in the fashion industry,” Du Rusquec added.
Ganni has been financially backed by L Catterton, the LVMH Group's investment fund, since 2017. In 2021, the brand surpassed €100 million in turnover and in 2022 it reached €165 million.
Ganni is distributed internationally through 600 multi-brand retailers, including department stores such as Galeries Lafayette and Printemps Haussmann in Paris, Bloomingdale's in the United States and Shinsegae in South Korea. It also operates 40 mono-brand stores, including two in Paris.
