Zlatan carries the Olympic torch before the opening ceremony

The Olympic torch has been held by many famous hands over the years, but it had to wait until 2026 for it to be held by a man with 405 club goals to his name… and the self-proclaimed title of 'God of Manchester'.

The star-studded opening ceremony of the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic Games took place on Friday. But before the festivities began, the torch had to complete its ceremonial relay, which began in Greece in November. And for the Milan match, who better to help than former Internazionale and AC Milan player Zlatan Ibrahimovic?

The legendary striker spent nine illustrious years at the two Milanese clubs, scoring 133 goals. His winding career took him everywhere from Barcelona to MLS's LA Galaxy before the Swedish international retired in 2023, becoming a senior advisor to AC Milan. However, wherever he went, he could be counted on for two things: amazing goals and even better quotes.

Years after hanging up his boots, Zlatan simply can't stop providing memorable moments.
