Two male lacrosse players of Marquette killed in car shock


Milwaukee – Two members of the Masculino de Marquette team were killed in a car accident on Friday night near the school campus in the center of Milwaukee.

Marquette officials confirmed that Scott Michaud and Noah Snyder died in the accident. A Mass was held in honor of them on Saturday.

“Please keep the parents, brothers and families of Noah and Scott, and the communities of Athletics and University of Marquette in their prayers,” said the president of the University, Kimo Ah Yun, in a statement on social networks. “The lives of Noah and Scott were taken too soon and shared the heartbreak of their teammates, coaches and those who knew them personally.”

Michaud was a 19 -year -old second year goalkeeper and a Biomedical Science student at Springboro, Ohio. Snyder was a second year student of the Faculty of Business Administration of 20 years of Irving, New York, who had come to Marquette from Westtown School in West Chester, Pennsylvania.

Milwaukee police said a 41 -year -old driver crashed with another vehicle that contained six occupants at 5 pm on Friday. Marquette officials said the six people in that second vehicle were part of the Lacrosse team.

Police confirmed that a 19 and 20 year old passenger was declared dead at the scene. Marquette then identified the victims as Michaud and Snyder.

According to the police, the other four occupants of the vehicle were treated at the scene by medical staff and in local hospitals due to injuries that were not considered potentially mortal, according to the police.

Police said an investigation is ongoing and that the Milwaukee County District Prosecutor's Office is pending criminal charges. The police report did not appoint the 41 -year -old driver, who was arrested.

Ah, Yun said Michaud and Snyder had been appointed for the Big East academic team last year to maintain at least 3.0 qualification averages. Snyder played in 13 of the 14 Marquette Games last season, making three openings in the center of the field and collecting nine goals and seven assists.
