PLL power ranking before week 4: Who is the new No. 1?

The margins are thin to shave after three weeks of the Ligrosse Premier 2025 League season. Four teams are 2-1, while the other four are 1-2.

Before this weekend games in the historic Homewood Field in Baltimore, here are my updated power classifications for the League.

1. Utah archers

Current registration: 2-1
Ranking of week 3: 2

The archers jump to a first place after a 12-11 victory over California last Friday. For Redwoods, they stayed for most of the game and took the two -time deep -waters. But again, Tom Schreiber was the Hero of the Archers with three goals and two assists, including the final goal of the team's night.

Utah still has a lot of work to do in the future. Directed by the 63% savings percentage of goalkeeper Brett Dobson, they have the scoring defense number 1 in the PLL. But the team is winning only 38% of its confrontations and its offensive is not zumba as in 2024. They seriously lack the injured Tre Leclaire in the selection game, and its ball movement is stagnant with obstructed omission lanes.

This weekend: Sunday, 12 pm (ABC/ESPN+) vs. The Outlaws

2. Philadelphia Waterdogs

Current registration: 2-1
Ranking of week 3: 4

After finishing the 2-8 2024 season, the Waterdogs quickly amounted to the upper step of the League after easily driving Boston in a 14-11 victory. Philly could not take that impulse to Saturday night, losing 9-7 before the outlaws. But the Waterdogs fired 7 of 34 that night, which should not be a problem in the future due to their offensive full of stars.

Michael Sowers, Jake Taylor and Kieran Mcardle are nightmares in the attack. The midfields of the midfield Jack Hannah and Thomas McConvey force the equipment in difficult sliding decisions. And after launching the creator of Connor Kelly games (now covered by a shorty), you can understand why I think the Waterdogs have the best offensive in the league. They have fired 32.5% in red this season, even without the Draft selection No. 1 CJ Kirst (PUP) in the fold.

3. Boston Cannons

Current registration: 2-1
Ranking of week 3: 1

Boston had the opportunity to be the only undefeated team in the league after last weekend, with a deficit of a goal that entered the second half against Philadelphia. But the Cannon scored only once in the third quarter, and Filadely escaped with an advantage of 13-8 to start the fourth quarter.

The Kingpins of Boston, Asher, Nolting and Marcus Holman had only two points each. And the team defense had no answers for Sowers (two goals, five assists) or McConvey (four goals). The cannons will have the opportunity to avoid .500 against the hometown team this weekend.

This weekend: Saturday, 7 pm (ESPN2/ESPN+) vs. The Whipsnakes

4. Maryland Whipsinakes

Current registration: 1-2
Ranking of week 3: 5

Maryland had a brave victory over Atlas last weekend, diverting the trajectory of her season with a late rally. After continuing 12-8 with 9:56 to play, the whip snakes executed an 8-0 race to finish the game. The Defense Tim Muller covered Xander Dickson throughout the night, while Matt Dunn kept Jeff Teat to one point.

The Kipsnakes Criminal Criminal Unit is the best in the League, stopping 14 consecutive power plays in calendar 2024 and 2025. Maryland is shooting at a worrying rate of 24%, but they can change that with games at consecutive house this weekend.

This weekend: Saturday, 7 pm (ESPN2/ESPN+) vs. The Whipsnakes; Sunday, 2:30 PM (ESPN+) vs. The Chaos

5. California Redwoods

Current registration: 2-1
Ranking of week 3: 6

Like all their games this season, the Redwoods began slowly and were forced to climb last weekend against Utah. But they fell short, unable to get a game goal after Charlie Bertrand brought them in a score with five minutes.

For some fans of the opposite team, the loss will feel as validation. The entrance of Redwoods will return to the League play on two weekends in its local territory, with games from June 27 to 28 in San Diego.

This weekend: Bye

6. New York Atlas

Current registration: 1-2
Ranking of week 3: 3

With the worst defense this season, New York is low performance after three weeks. Against Maryland, the Atlas exploded a 6-0 advantage, an 8-1 advantage and a margin of 12-8 in the fourth quarter. They entered that game that came out of a week of rest, which was shown. It seemed that their legs got gummy and as if they were breathing fire.

The New York epic collapse caused the team to fall so much in my ranking. They could not gain confrontations, ground balls or make stops when it mattered.

7. Denver Outlaws

Current registration: 1-2
Ranking of week 3: 8

In his debut PLL, the rookie goalkeeper Logan McNaney helped the outlaws entering the winning column with 14 salvages against the Waterdogs dogs. Those stops, combined with an impeccable step and some instinctive land around the fold, indicated McNaney's strong arrival to professionals. Another star, Pat Kavanagh, scored a Hat Trick versus Philly, while the former open receiver of the NFL Jared Bernhardt scored his first PLL race goal.

Jake Piseno, Nick Grill and Ryan Terefenko also ran hard from the defense to the offensive arch last weekend, which is a good sign for the team in the future. Although the final result of 9-7 was not impressive, it was a giant step in the right direction for this team.

This weekend: Sunday, 12 pm (ABC/ESPN+) vs. The Archers

8. Carolina Chaos

Current registration: 1-2
Ranking of week 3: 7

Chaos is the last in the league in two important categories: time of possession and percentage of confrontation (33%). Fortunately for them, goalkeeper Blaze Riordden has a 63% savings percentage and Pole Troy Real leads all those not fiery with 15 ball balls. Carolina had a goodbye weekend in Philadelphia and rests an extra day before facing Maryland.
