Patrick Mahomes knows who he would be if he played basketball: 'Just like Steph Curry'


Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes He is a two-time MVP and two-time Super Bowl champion.

Mahomes is on his way to being considered one of the greatest in the sport as he has led the Chiefs to a fourth Super Bowl appearance in five years.

On Monday, the Chiefs quarterback said his basketball game would be similar to that of one of the NBA's greats if he chose the hardwood instead of the football field.

“If I played basketball, it would be like Stephen Curry“Mahomes said with a smile. “I mean, I got the vaccine. I just had to do a couple extra reps, a couple of shots up and I'd be shooting just like him. That's what I would be.”

Mahomes has a chance Sunday to move within one of Steph Curry's total titles. Curry has won four NBA championships with the warriors of the golden state for the last nine seasons.

As Mahomes approaches his third ring, comparisons to the GOAT quarterback have only increased.

Tom Brady, who won seven Super Bowls, retired after the 2022 NFL season and is widely considered the best quarterback to ever play the game.

Mahomes scrapped his goal of surpassing Brady on Monday during opening night of the Super Bowl.

“I mean, I'm not even close to the halfway point, so I haven't thought about it much,” Mahomes said Monday via NFL.com. “I mean, your goal is to be the best player you can be. I know I'm lucky to be surrounded by a lot of great players around me.
