Former college football quarterback slams Auburn's Hugh Freeze for critical comments about his players

Former college football quarterback Bo Wallace criticized Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze on Saturday after the Tigers lost a game to Arkansas, 24-14.

Bo Wallace, who played under Freeze while both were at Ole Miss, didn't appreciate Freeze's critical comments about his quarterbacks. Peyton Thorne and Hank Brown combined for four interceptions. Freeze said he had to find a player “who wouldn't throw to the other team.”

Wallace accused Freeze of making his quarterbacks look foolish.

“We're getting close to the point where he's made so many quarterbacks look foolish that maybe no one wants to play for him,” Wallace wrote in X. “His offense helped me tremendously to boost my numbers when I injured my shoulder…

“But why is it someone else's fault every time there is a defeat? … but when there is a victory I watch the press conferences just to count how many times the word 'I' is used… I appreciate what he did for me, even though my son wouldn't play for him.”

Wallace added that Freeze never helped him as a player and was only concerned with getting wins.

Thorne completed 13 of 22 passes for 213 yards and two touchdown passes. Brown completed 7 of 12 passes for 72 yards. But nearly half of his passes went to the other team.

“I know there are open players and I know we're running the ball,” Freeze added, via Yahoo Sports. “And we've got to find a player who's not going to throw it to the other team. And we've got to find running backs who'll hold it.”
