UConn men's basketball coach Dan Hurley has agreed to a new six-year, $50 million contract through the 2029-30 season, the school announced Monday.
Hurley has the opportunity to receive performance-based incentives throughout the term of the contract.
Hurley received the contract after turning down an offer from the NBA's Los Angeles Lakers to become their head coach. Hurley turned down a six-year, $70 million contract offer from the Lakers, who then hired JJ Redick as coach, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Hurley has led UConn to back-to-back national championships and has a 141-58 record with the Huskies.
