Christian Pulisic will miss the Milan match due to a new injury

Christian Pulisic is likely to miss AC Milan's Serie A match against Lazio this weekend, coach Massimiliano Allegeri said on Thursday.

The American star, who has just returned from a hamstring injury, withdrew from training on Wednesday due to minor muscle discomfort, according to reports in Italy.

In his pre-match press conference, Allegri was pessimistic about Pulisic's chances of being overtaken in time for Saturday's game.

“It is unlikely that Pulisic will play, although there are still two days left before the game and anything can happen,” he said.

Pulisic suffered a minor tear to his right hamstring in the first half of the United States men's national team's 2–1 friendly victory over Australia on October 17.

He returned as a substitute in the 2–2 draw against Parma on 8 November.

While he was not included in Mauricio Pochettino's USMNT squad for the November friendlies against Paraguay and Uruguay, Pulisic started and scored the only goal in the Milan derby over Inter last weekend.

Milan is two points behind Serie A leaders Roma before hosting Lazio on Saturday.
