Buccaneers restoring Jon Gruden in Ring of Honor

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made a great announcement on Thursday, saying that they will restore the place of former chief coach Jon Gruden in his ring of honor.

Gruden was retired in 2021 after giving up his position as coach of the Las Vegas Raiders after emails with a racist, homophobic and misogynist language in multiple reports.

Since then, Gruden's only position in the League was as a consultant with the Saints of New Orleans. Then, he became a member of the media, began his own YouTube channel and recently joined Barstool Sports.

But the Buccaneers have changed their minds, and issued a statement about their decision.

“Jon Gruden was initially initiated in the Buccaneers' honor ring based on his many achievements during his seven seasons as a chief coach and remains a significant figure in the history of our franchise,” reads the team's statement.

“By reflecting more, we have decided to restore it in the Buccaneers honor ring.”

The owner of the Raiders, Mark Davis, says that the organization of the renunciation set of Jon Gruden back: “His head was cut”

Gruden's mandate as coach in Tampa Bay of 2000-08 presented the first Vince Lombardi trophy of the organization to win the Super Bowl XXXVII in 2003.

The BUCS had 57-55 in the regular season, as well as 3-2 in the playoffs, during the seven seasons of Gruden with the team.

The owner of the Raiders, Mark Davis, recently commented on Gruden's resignation in 2021, which ended prematurely his mandate with the club that had signed it with a massive contract of 10 years in 2018.

Davis said he believes that Gruden's departure resumed the organization enough.

“He was someone who brought and really expected that person on the side of football who would bring stability to the organization,” Davis told media members by introducing Pete Carroll as the new Raiders chief coach at the end of last month. “He had a 10 -year -old contract and all that, and his head was cut.”

Gruden, who is demanding from the NFL, leaked his emails, which saw him use derogatory comments addressed to the NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and the executive director of the NFLPA Demaurice Smith, among others.

But Gruden has tried to remain in the game the best he can, now in his media concert, and the Buccaneers seem to be past to be past.
