Bengals' Cam-Taylor Britt has no regrets about pregame criticism of rookie QB Jayden Daniels

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels' debut on “Monday Night Football” was a night to remember.

Daniels, the second overall pick in this year's draft, finished the night with two touchdown passes and used his legs to add another score. One of those touchdowns was the result of a picturesque 27-yard pass from Daniels to wide receiver Terry McLaurin in the fourth quarter.

Daniels was able to evade pressure in the pocket and deliver an accurate pass to the Pro Bowl wide receiver. The rookie quarterback's impressive play brought back memories of some recent comments Cincinnati Bengals defensive back Cam Taylor-Britt shared about Daniels prior to the start of the Week 3 game between the Commanders and Bengals.

Taylor-Britt suggested Washington coaches present Daniels with a simplistic scheme that effectively acts like a “good college offense.”

If the Commanders did indeed run a college-style offense, Bengals defenders and coaches weren't very successful in their efforts to counter it Monday. Washington's offense was so efficient that the team avoided using its punter for the entire game.

According to data compiled by the Elias Sports Bureau, Monday night's game marked the first time in the Super Bowl era that an NFL game ended without either participating team punting or fumbled.

Even though the Commanders' offense put up 356 yards and 38 points in the win over the Bengals, Taylor-Britt said he has no regrets about his pregame comments.

“I have no regrets,” Taylor-Britt said, via the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Taylor-Britt also clarified that her initial comments were not meant with any ill intent.

“I didn't mean anything malicious with the comment. I exaggerated it. Yes, I can definitely eat my words. We suffered a defeat today.”
