Barcelona beat Real Madrid in the Women's Super Cup semifinal

Mariona Caldentey and Salma Paralluelo scored twice as Barcelona beat Real Madrid 4-0 to advance to the final of the Spanish Women's Super Cup.

Patri Guijarro had a late fifth goal disallowed for offside at the Butarque Stadium, as Barça made it 13 consecutive wins in the Clásico since Madrid officially absorbed CD Tacón in 2021.

Jonatan Giraldez's side will face Levante in Saturday's final after the Valencian team beat Atlético de Madrid in Tuesday's other semi-final.

Madrid once again focuses its attention on League F, where it is nine points behind Barça after 13 games.

They also remain in the Queen's Cup although they have already been eliminated from the Champions League after picking up just one point in four group stage games.

Barça, the reigning champions of Spain and Europe, came into Wednesday's match as favorites and quickly began to book their place in the final at half-time.

Caldentey, playing as a false nine, opened the scoring from close range in the 12th minute after Madrid failed to clear a corner to set the tone for another dominant display.

The second goal came just three minutes later, when Paralluelo finished with the outside of his boot once winger Ona Battle kept the attack alive.

Olga Carmona almost put Madrid back in the game but Ingrid Engen cleared her shot off the line with goalkeeper Cata Coll outplayed.

Barça's third came before the break after the VAR intervened and a penalty was awarded for a foul by Ivana Andrés on Caldentey, who converted her tenth goal of the season from a penalty.

Paralluelo increased her tally for the campaign to 14 early in the second half after taking advantage of a nice pass from Caroline Graham Hansen.

Giraldez then withdrew Caldentey and Paralluelo to deny both the chance of scoring a hat-trick as thoughts turned to resting their legs before the final.

Guijarro thought he had scored a fifth goal later, which would have equaled the result of the teams' meeting in the F League in November, but VAR disallowed the goal for offside in the build-up.

Barça will now face Levante at the Butarque Stadium this weekend with the possibility of winning the Super Cup for the third consecutive year and winning what they hope will be the first of four trophies this season.
