Liverpool secured a comfortable 4-1 win over Sevilla in a pre-season friendly at Anfield on Sunday.

Diogo Jota opened the scoring for the home side before Luis Diaz scored twice and substitute Treymaurice Nyoni added the final goal of the game.

Arne Slot named a strong starting XI, which included Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah.

Jota opened the scoring for Liverpool in the 30th minute with a superb first-time volley that flew into the top corner after receiving a ball from Alexander-Arnold high above the area.

Diaz doubled Liverpool's lead in the 39th minute, cutting in from the left to fire across the goal into the top corner.

And the Colombian striker added a third in first-half stoppage time when Dominik Szoboszlai passed him a pass to finish into an empty net.

Gerard Fernández pulled one back for Sevilla in the 66th minute, but Liverpool added their fourth shortly afterwards through Nyoni.

Liverpool begin their 2024-25 Premier League campaign at newly-promoted Ipswich Town on Saturday.
