Actor Will Ferrell attended Leeds United's Championship match against Burnley at Elland Road on Saturday.
The “Anchorman” star became a minority shareholder in Leeds this year. The club, which plays in the second division of English football, is run by the owners of the NFL's San Francisco 49ers.
The ownership group first invested in Leeds in 2018 and increased its stake to 44% by the end of 2021, then struck a deal in 2023 to take over Leeds with NBA star Russell Westbrook and golfers Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas also buying minority stakes in the club.
Ferrell is also a co-owner of MLS side LAFC.
Unfortunately for Ferrell, his presence did not inspire the home team, who fell to a 1-0 defeat thanks to Luca Koleosho's goal in the 18th minute.
Ferrell, 57, is one of several American celebrities who have invested in English football following the success of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney at Wrexham.
Former NFL quarterback Tom Brady is a minority owner of Birmingham City.
On Friday, Wrexham recruited two-time Super Bowl winner Eli Manning as a supporter ahead of the team's League One clash with Brady's Birmingham.
